The Ark segmentation systems were developed because existing generic segmentations based on Age/Class/Lifestage are becoming increasingly less appropriate and less effective in leisure and tourism markets.

Ark segmentation is based upon dual components:

  • Aspirations: ‘Life Values’ and ‘Willingness to pay’
  • Choice Drivers: the practical considerations such as income, responsibilities & other life factors
