Travelmole Staycation Debate

Staycation trends were identified and specific segments' behaviour was highlighted during a recent Travelmole Staycation Debate. This article briefly explores the debates conclusions and provides a link to more information

Arkenford Director Ben Moxon got a taste of the Limelight at the Travelmole Staycation Debate in March where, on a panel between TUI and Wyndham Directors, he revealed the results of a year's worth of month by month research into UK holidaymaker opinions. The debate, entitled 'Staycation - Myth or Reality?' drew together leaders from the commercial and public sector tourism organizations including representatives from Visit Britain, to discuss whether UK holiday makers are spending their leisure time in the UK or whether the foreign holiday is the UK's favourite.

The research has shown that the whilst the traditional markets for UK and foreign holidays were still adhering to their past behaviour, the more independent markets were fluctuating and some interesting data for 2010 was revealed.
